Suspicious activity and IP blocking

How EpicHostly detects abuse and what to do if your IP gets blocked.

Our security systems automatically detect patterns that look like attacks, such as many failed logins or repeated forbidden requests.

What we do

We may temporarily block an IP address that shows abusive behaviour. We send security alerts for suspicious activity. We rate-limit requests to slow down automated attacks.

If your IP is blocked

  1. Wait for the block to expire (blocks are usually temporary).
  2. Check that you are not using a proxy or VPN that other users share.
  3. Contact your internet provider if the block persists.
  4. If you believe the block is a mistake, contact our support team with your IP address.

Preventing false positives

Avoid automated scripts that hammer the login page. Keep your password manager up to date so you do not retry failed logins. Contact us quickly if your IP is blocked so we can investigate.
